As an OTA at TIBS for Kids, you will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to help people with physical, mental, or emotional challenges improve their ability to perform daily living and work-related tasks. At TIBS for Kids, OTA’s are responsible for:
Helping the OT implement treatment plans by preparing materials and equipment for therapy sessions, documenting patient progress, and providing feedback to the OT.
Supporting the OT in assessing patient needs, abilities and limitations by observing and recording their performance during therapy sessions and administering standardized tests.
Assisting patients with therapeutic activities designed to improve their strength, coordination, balance and range of motion.
Educating patients and their families with information about their conditions, therapy goals and strategies for improving their daily living skills
Providing emotional support to patients who may be dealing with pain, anxiety, or other emotional challenges related to their condition.
Demonstrate effective time management skills through daily documentation and sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
